Hi, I’m Becky, and I’m here to empower women to take an active role in their healthy pregnancy.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I went to a midwife full of questions of how to kick my health up a notch — I figured if I was eating for two, I’d better do it right. I’d always been interested in nutrition, and I had fairly healthy eating habits already (Green smoothies!), and I was excited to see what else I could do to be even healthier.

All I got from that appointment was a handout detailing all the foods I couldn’t eat.

There was no info - at all - about what I should eat, when, and why, to support myself and my baby through pregnancy and postpartum.

Then week 6 hit, and my green smoothie made me GAG. The only things I could keep down were orange juice and microwaved deli sandwiches (because I knew I wasn’t supposed to eat cold deli meat. Thanks handout!). Even when I started feeling better, those eating habits carried over into later trimesters and I gained more weight than I planned.

The birth went well, but I wasn’t prepared for how insatiably hungry and exhausted I felt in the first few weeks of breastfeeding. I set up a ‘nursing snack station’ on my nightstand packed with peanut M&Ms. I was too exhausted to cook, I ate without any intention around what nutrients my baby and I needed, and I felt like crap.

It would have been so much easier if I’d gone in with a plan, knew what to eat, had prepped healthy meals in the freezer, and had the support of someone who could tell me what to DO when I was too tired to think.

It would have been so nice to have someone supporting me throughout my pregnancy as things came up (looking at YOU green smoothie), especially as a first-time mom.

So I became that someone.

Good nutrition makes SUCH a difference.

As an Integrative Nutrition Coach, I’ll teach you how to give yourself the nutritional support your body needs, from the time you’re thinking of trying to conceive until after you’ve had the baby.

  • If you’re curious about how to up-level your nutrition,

  • if you’re here to try to prevent complications,

  • and if you want to feel empowered to be able to give yourself and your baby the healthiest, happiest experience...

I’m here for you. Every step of the way!

But before I trained at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, I got my Masters degree in Education - specifically in the area of Educational Psychology - which means I know the science of how people learn and create new habits.

Creating new habits is at the root of how we become healthier. Because health is about more than what you eat today, it’s about creating a lifestyle that fully supports you in feeling your best.

My philosophy:

I don’t believe in…

  • “Clean” vs “Dirty” eating (less judgement, more veggies is my golden rule)

  • “Real” vs “Fake” food (unless you’re nibbling your kid’s plastic toy hamburger, there is no ‘fake’ food, but there is more nutrient-dense and less nutrient-dense food)

  • Prenatal vitamins as a cure-all - they’re great for augmenting your diet, but they don’t make up for healthy eating in the first place!

  • Fear mongering, restricting, counting, guilting and shaming. Nope

I do believe in…

  • Fruit, vegetables, legumes, and anything else that grows out of the ground

  • Meat, eggs, cheese, fish - if that works for your body

  • Bread, gluten-free, grain-free, oatmeal - really, this is about finding what works best for you

  • Getting back to basics - eating the way our ancestors did

  • Moderation in all things, including moderation

  • Chilling OUT (there’s so much pressure to do this ‘right’ - and there’s no right way!)

My approach is based on whole foods and no shame. We’re all human, last I checked, and if all you can eat is saltine crackers for three months, I’m not going to make you feel bad about it. I will help you try to find healthy foods you enjoy that are more nutritionally-dense, but I won’t judge you for your food choices. That’s part of what empowerment means. You have CHOICE!

The other part of empowerment is knowledge. I want you to have the knowledge to choose the best options for your needs. I will meet you where you are, whatever your diet looks like, and together, we’ll increase the nutrient-density of your diet, while making sure you get to eat the foods you love and the foods you crave.

A little more about me…

I believe that when we fuel ourselves with the foods our bodies are meant to eat, we are BETTER. We feel better, we function better, we think better, we’re happier, healthier, and just, well, better versions of ourselves. When we bring that sense of strength and empowerment into pregnancy, there is nothing we can’t handle.

1. Fun fact

Before my daughter was in the picture, I used to be a risk-taker! Sky diving, cliff jumping, and bungee jumping (0/10 would NOT recommend). Also, word to the wise…don’t eat 2 bags of Cheetos before jumping out of a plane.

2. Fun fact

I unapologetically own and frequently wore absurd cat-themed clothes (tank tops, socks, sweaters, etc.) for years before I even got a cat!

3. Fun fact

I cry during almost every movie I watch, including Dumb and Dumber. When Lloyd (Jim Carrey) doesn’t get on the bus with the bikini models at the end? It’s SAD!

Books on my kitchen shelf right now:

Real Food for Pregnancy by Lily Nichols, RDN, CDE

What to eat when you’re pregnant by Nicole M. Avena, PhD

The Egg Quality Diet by Aimee E. Raupp, M.S., L. Ac.
